This course will cover the historical period between 1900 and World War II. It will focus on the formal structure of representative compositions in relation to their musical language and it will include five major units:
There will be three assignments, three listening test, and a comprehensive final. There will also be a number of reading assignments to be discussed in class. Participation in the discussions will be taken into consideration in determining the final grade.
Grading policies are as follows:
Weight toward the final grade 3 assignments, 100 points @ 45% 3 listening test, 100 points @ 15% 1 final examination, 100 points 30% class participation 10%
