CMP computer names
In order to access CMP computers from outside UIUC campus, you need to install UIUC
Vitual Provate Network (VPN)
In order to use DISSCO, you also need to install
XQuartz on your computer/laptop.
Linux
Loggin in remotely to CMP computers: For mac users, login through XQuartz (X11), which should be installed already and can be found in application -> utility. This app functions exactly as a terminal and let you see the graphic interface. Open it. Type " ssh -Y netid@X.music.illinois.edu" where X equals any computer name in CMP. For windows users, two links that are helpful for getting a XQuartz-like terminal: http://x.cygwin.com/ https://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/ Open it. Type " ssh -Y netid@X.music.illinois.edu" where X equals any computer name in CMP.
